Taking over the position of Director of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, within the Faculty of Medicine and Biological Sciences, “Ştefan cel Mare” University Suceava, came at a time immediately after the establishment of both the department and the faculty of which it is part, and that’s why, my concern is the development and continuous improvement of both the educational and the administrative process, so that our faculty can offer the best conditions for the training of students.
Currently, the following bachelor study programs are being conducted within the department:
- Nutrition and Dietetics – 3 years,
- Balneophysiokinetotherapy and medical recovery – 3 years,
- General Nursing – 4 years,
- Dental Techology – 3 years,
- Biology – 3 years and
- Biochemistry – 3 years.
These bachelor programs were joined by the first master’s degree program, Nutrition and Medical Recovery – 2 years, being the first master’s program in Medicine at the University “Stefan cel Mare” in Suceava.
All of these bachelor programs are in the form of full-time education, and students from all study programs have an excellent teaching and research background in both pre-clinical and clinical subjects. Also, our students benefit from a valuable and integrity teaching staff, recognized at national and international level by their activity.
Students are trained and attracted to improve in all areas of medical knowledge, in research activities since the student period, as well as to apply the professional skills acquired during their training, both to stimulate medical and scientific performance.
The Department of Biomedical Sciences ensures both the training of students and the improvement of graduates and specialists in various branches of Medicine and Biological Sciences through bachelor and master study programs, as well as their assertion in the national and European circuit, in accordance with regulations specific to qualifications in the field of Medicine and Biological Sciences and the increasingly dynamic demands of the labor market.
The Faculty of Medicine and Biological Sciences is an extremely dynamic faculty, with a modern educational process, which corresponds to the educational needs of our students and meets the needs of diversification of teaching methods for teachers. I believe in the fundamental role that our faculty has in training specialists in both the field of Health and Biology. We need specialists, very well trained, we need to train new generations of students, who will represent tomorrow the basic human resource in the development of Romanian medicine.
